Sysleriget - Silk Mohair
About color reproduction
We always do our utmost to ensure that the product images reproduce the colors correctly. However, monitors display colors differently, some may display them deeper and stronger while others brighter. We therefore cannot guarantee that the pictures show the exact color of the yarn. You can always email us at hej@lillagarnbutiken.se if you want to see more pictures.
Wash and care
This yarn is best washed by hand with wool detergent, for example Eucalan. Let the garment lie in a tub with about 4 liters of water together with a teaspoon of wool detergent. Then gently squeeze out the water and place the garment on a towel. Roll the towel with the garment and squeeze out the water.
If you have a washing machine that can run a spin-only program, you can use this instead of squeezing out the water in a towel. If you are unsure about your washing machine, we recommend that you knit a test patch that you wash and spin to see how the yarn and fabric behave.
Let the garment dry flat, preferably on a towel. The garment should not be dried in direct sunlight, it can be in the sun without any problems when it is dry.
Important about hand-dyed yarns
Hand-dyed yarns are inherently unique. They are dyed in troughs and even if all the skeins in your order come from the same dyeing, they will differ slightly.
To get an even end result, our recommendation is that you alternate skeins if you are knitting a larger project. We usually knit stripes with the skeins, 2-3 rounds with skein 1 and then 2-3 rounds with skein 2 and so on. This way, any color shifts will blend together.
Sysleriget's wonderful hand-dyed silk mohair has taken the world by storm. From real wow colors that will knock your socks off to calm tones with soft transitions. Malena is a master at coloring these lovelies.
The yarn is delivered in skeins of 50 grams. When knitting with hand-dyed yarns, they will differ slightly between skeins, even if they are dyed in the same bath. Therefore, we recommend that you knit with two skeins at the same time and knit "stripes" where you knit 2 rounds at a time from the different skeins. This is to avoid too sharp color changes.
